SUBMITTING PHOTOGRAPHS FOR THE WEBSITE
However, there are a few problems that I have when organizing these photographs that need to be examined. They aren't listed in any particular order, but all are equally important, so here goes: 1. It's either 'feast or famine'... more photographs than I can use or too few to make an interesting presentation. I've found that 20 to 24 photographs are an optimum number to submit for the assembly of three or four pages for a rally or event, but 10 to 12 is the least number to consider. 2. Be sure to take a photo of the entire group whenever possible. It provides visible evidence of the attendance, as well as to show those that didn't have an individual photo of themselves taken. 3. Take a photo of each couple or individual in attendance, as well as small groups of people limited to about four to six in number. Try to compose your shots with emphasis on the head and shoulders. It's more important to see a closer image of their faces than a full body shot, which many of us don't wish to be posted on the website anyway! 4. Label the photos or provide a list of all those submitted. Although I can identify many of our members, there are many that I don't know or have never seen, especially newer members and visitors. We like to post peoples names and where they're from with their photos. 5. Try to find one person at each rally or event to take your photographs. That way a more complete representation of the attendees and activities will be included. Almost everyone has a camera, but unfortunately not everyone is good at photography. 6. Take both serious and fun photos. Remember that we are providing a visual presentation of what CFC is about, that we not only worship and study God's word, but we also enjoy other pursuits as well. 7. It is most important for YOU to select the photographs you wish to have posted on the website. Don't leave that up to me, as I might not make a decision you will be happy with. 8. You may submit photographs in several different ways: a. Send your selected prints or a CD of your photographs via U.S. Postal Service to ... Bruce Blaney, PO Box 1212, Shasta Lake, CA 96019-1212 -OR- b. Send one or more emails with your photographs ATTACHED to the email(s) to the address listed below. DO NOT post them in the message area of the email, as I cannot read them when they are located there. They must be individual files that are sent as 'attachments' to your email.
